Preparing For Your Photo Shoot

Thank you for choosing The Big Small Shop to support your business. Let’s get down to work! We believe a good photo helps, but a GREAT photo sells itself. Our photographer, Beth Woods “The Shutter Mumma”, is just that, GREAT! That’s why we chose her!

In order to get the best from your photo shoot, we advise you prepare. Here are a few tips to get you set up….

Retailers

• Have your 25 products (or agreed amount) chosen and ready for action.

• Have a list to match to your products, so we can make sure we match the images correctly.

• Choose your backdrop (either a plain background with your logo behind, or we prefer the product positioned in its selling surroundings. It helps to connect your customers with your store).

• Set out the areas in and around the store you would like shots of.

• Have all of your team present if possible (nothing helps people connect with your store more than your staff).

• Allow enough time. We are aware you may be busy with customers in trading hours, and that’s great, Beth will work around you as much as possible, but bear in mind she is there to get the best shots for you and your business.

Tradespeople/Clubs

• Decide your location for your photoshoot (office, warehouse, hall, existing works, previous works)

• Agree your location for shots prior to your appointment, with us and with clients if necessary.

• Have all of your team present if possible (nothing helps people connect with your business more than your staff).

• Allow enough time. We are aware you may be busy with customers in trading hours, and that’s great, Beth will work around you as much as possible, but bear in mind she is there to get the best shots for you and your business.

Once completed, Beth will set about editing all the images, and then choose the photos to send to us ready for upload. We let her decide the best images, it’s what she does best, and we trust she will get the best shots for you. We will ask your approval before we upload any pictures. If you are not happy with any of the pictures, we will look to rectify this for you. However, any subsequent shoots will be charged for.
